Clinical Reproducibility and Reliability of Lever Sign Test for Acute ACL Tear

I thought this study was interesting. Partly because I have never heard of the Lever Sign Test, or Lelli Test, but more importantly because it points out how hard it is to diagnose an ACL tear if you aren’t specially trained in Sports Medicine. 

Patients often come in to see me after a ski injury, frequently after having been evaluated at first aid at the base of the mountain or at urgent care. They are often told that they just “strained their knee” —only for me to have to break the news that they actually tore their ACL.
