Patient Story
10 Ironman finishes, a torn meniscus root, — and back running at 5 months post-op.
Avid runner and 10-time Ironman triathlete Rhona Chambers tore her meniscus root, faced a six-week non-weight-bearing recovery, and was running 6 miles pain-free five months after Dr. Sabrina Strickland's repair at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Starry Night! Not enough stars for my review for Dr. Sabrina Strickland and her team. Dr. Strickland repaired a root tear to my meniscus which was a 6 week non-weight bearing nightmare for an avid runner who hates to ask for help with anything. During the 6 weeks I questioned many times if I would be able to return to the lifestyle I had lived prior to the tear. I have 10 Ironman triathlon finishes and many marathons under my belt. I am currently 5 months post-op and can run 6 miles no problem. Five months until the NYC Marathon - real good chance.

Dr. Strickland did promise me one thing - skiing by summer!
