I’m proud to report that our paper, “Management of Patellar and Trochlear Cartilage Lesions with Matrix-Induced Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation in Conjunction with Patellofemoral Realignment Procedures Improves Patient Reported Outcomes and Magnetic Resonance Image Appearance,” just got published in The Journal of ISAKOS (JISAKOS).
We have followed our patients who have undergone MACI cartilage transplantation after surgery — both in the office as well as by getting MRI imaging. Overall, this is a very successful technique to improve symptoms in patients with symptomatic cartilage lesions, especially with malalignment. The combination of realignment with osteotomy and MACI is optimal for the majority of these patients.
