Using Machine Learning to Predict MPFL Reconstruction Outcomes

Using Machine Learning to Predict MPFL Reconstruction Outcomes

As I’m not a computer scientist or an engineer, I don’t know a whole lot about or really understand machine learning. However, it makes perfect sense that these emerging technologies will help us make better decisions when we’re trying to figure out the best combination of surgical interventions for patellar instability. This field has changed drastically over the last 10 to 15 years. And I anticipate major changes again over the next 5 to 10 years. Computer modeling, where they feed a lot of data that we already have into the model, has already started to yield some very interesting results.

I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next and how we can use it to improve MPFL reconstruction outcomes.
