Patellofemoral instability assessments yielded poor interrater reliability

I was a part of this study where we looked at different measurements on x-rays and MRIs of patellar instability patients. Ultimately, many decisions we make are based on how we measure a patient’s images and therefore accuracy in measurement is important.

As we learn more and more about patellar instability, and stop telling patients to just live with their patellar instability, we will learn which measurements actually correlate with recurrent instability and which anatomic factors should be addressed surgically.
